Case study: Premier League Primary Stars - Manorfield

Overview

·         Manorfield Primary School has used Premier League Primary Stars resources and incentives to improve engagement, attainment and extra-curricular sports participation.

·         As a recipient of the Premier League Kit & Equipment Scheme in 2017, the school has seen improvements in how pupils engage with school sport. Benefits have included higher sports participation among girls and improvements to teamwork and respect.

·         Manorfield has also been inspired by Premier League Primary Stars to address boys’ literacy through a range of targeted initiatives.

About Manorfield Primary
Manorfield Primary School, located in the London borough of Tower Hamlets, had previously received an Ofsted rating of “inadequate”. However, head teacher Paul Jackson has overseen a radical overhaul of the school’s culture, staff and overall performance in the last two years, resulting in the school’s latest Ofsted rating of “outstanding”.

The school community reflects the local area’s diverse and rapidly changing social make-up. Across the borough of Tower Hamlets, 53.4% of children grow up in poverty and 27.1% of Year 6 pupils are classified as obese.............Click Here For The Full Article
