Nurture Group

Nurture groups are small, structured teaching groups for pupils showing signs of behavioural, social or emotional difficulties. They aim to provide a predictable environment in which pupils can build trusting relationships with adults and gain the skills they need in order to learn in larger classes. Within the group children are taught about feelings and emotions and how to manage them, through a program of study called ‘Zones of Regulation’. The group meets for a short session each afternoon.
